Here’s the deal.

There are cat people and there are dog people. There are also allergic people. But I’m not that allergic to animals. What I am allergic to are peanuts, tree nuts, mangoes, fish, shellfish, and, most of all, boring ideas. You know what I’m talking about. Creative dogfood, slopped out to the masses. That stuff doesn’t sit well with me. Or anyone, if we’re being honest. If it makes your throat swell up with boredom, it shouldn’t be out in the world. Crafting interesting ideas from the start always works better than a frantic Epi-Pen jab of synthetic adrenaline. Heck, a lot of people panic and stab their thumbs instead of their thighs. (Look it up, it happens.) The same is true of advertising. Thankfully, I’m not allergic to small budgets, tight timelines, and complicated categories. Getting comfortable with those restrictions to my creative diet has saved me more times than I can count. And in this economy, it’ll save you too. Whether you’re a cat person. Or a dog person.
